Vegan Balls

INGREDIENTS

For the balls

  • 2 cups TVP crumbles or one 12 oz. package of premade vegan crumbles
  • 1 small onion, finely diced (omit if usingTVP crumbles recipe)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite plant based milk (e.g. almond milk, soy milk, rice milk) but avoid coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax
  • pinch all spice
  • ground black pepper, to taste

For the gravy

  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/4 cup of your favorite plant based milk (e.g. almond milk, soy milk, rice milk) but avoid coconut milk
  • salt and ground black pepper, to taste


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Fry onion oven medium heat until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, mix together the breadcrumbs, plant based milk, ground flax, and spices.
  4. Combine the onion, the mixture and crumbles.
  5. Form into balls.
  6. Bake in oven for 20 minutes.
  7. While the balls are baking, combine the gravy ingredients and warm up in a sauce pan.
