TVP Crumbles

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups low sodium vegetable broth 
  • 1 cup TVP (texturized vegetable protein)
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste or 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon A1 sauce
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar free ketchup (we like True Made Foods or Primal Kitchen ketchup, both are sugar free)


DIRECTIONS

  1. Fry onion and minced garlic for a few minutes.
  2. Mix in the remaining ingredients except for the TVP and bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Mix in the TVP, reduce to low heat, and simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until this has reached your desired consistency.
