Marinara Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups diced tomato or 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon herbs (basil, oregano, parsley, thyme, et cetera)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ground black pepper, to taste


DIRECTIONS

  1. Pulse the tomatoes in a food processor. The idea here is for them to be a tad chunky. If you'd like, you can reserve a quarter of the tomatoes for an even chunkier sauce.
  2. Add tomatoes and spices to a pot and heat to just before it starts to boil.
  3. Reduce heat, and let simmer for 20 minutes to an hour, until the sauce thickens to your liking.
